Adaugo Women Association will unite the women of Isiuzo Local Government to work as a team and play active part in politics and governance.

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, on Sunday, November 27, reinforced its strength in Isiuzo Local Government Area, Enugu State, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Hon. Mrs. Catherine Amaka Ugwueze, member representing Isi-uzo in Enugu Sate House of Assembly, inaugurated the Adaugo Women Association to unite all the women of Isiuzo Local Government irrespective of age, status and background to spread love, work as a team and participate actively in politics and governance.
Pro-women and youths, Hon. Mrs Ugwueze is on a selfless mission to improve the welfare of Isiuzo women through targeted empowerment programmes. One of which is skills acquisition programme that will enable the women diversify in skills and crafts and have multiple sources of income to support themselves and their families.
She said that soft loans will be provided for the women to start up businesses or support existing ones. The group will also be registered as a cooperative society to attract Incentives from government and other philanthropists to assist Isiuzo women in small and medium scale businesses. These programmes when started, will be properly managed and monitored to ensure growth and success in all areas.
“The vision is to achieve a strong, formidable, focused and purpose-driven women united in love. Women who will be sources of inspiration and encouragement to younger women unto the next generation. Women who will shun envy, bitterness and division and embrace peace, love and oneness,” explained Hon. Ugwueze.
Prior to this new project, she has been empowering women and youths in skills acquisition and businesses of their choice.
The women through their leaders from the eleven wards of Isiuzo while giving vote of thanks declared that Hon. Ugwueze is the most acceptable candidate for Enugu State Assembly come 2023 and that they will vote all the PDP candidates in Enugu State.
Augustine Nnamani, Enugu State PDP chairman who inaugurated the association, said the coming of Hon Ugwueze has changed the fortune of Isiuzo women significantly and things will get better. He urged them to remain steadfast in their support for PDP.
Jideofor Ebeh, Enugu State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, thanked the youths from the two wards in Ikem for their consistent support for PDP over the years. He noted that the massive presence of youths was a proof of their loyalty to PDP and that the Party will not take that for granted.
He urged them not to be deceived by social media noise makers and urban politicians as PDP has their interests at heart.
